Two losing seasons to close out the 1990s cost coach Gerry DiNardo his job. Enter Nick Saban, whose foundational work resulted in 12 outstanding years of Tigers football.

From 2000-11, LSU won two national championships and appeared in a third national title game. In that span, the Tigers won four Southeastern Conference championships and appeared in a fifth SEC title game.
