5-star Center Aalyah Del Rosario commits to LSU

Kim Mulkey and her LSU basketball program picked up the verbal commitment from one of the nations premier center prospect in Aalyah Del Rosario of The Webb School in Tennessee.

The 6-foot-5 prospect announced her commitment to LSUon instagram.  She chose the Tigers over South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina.  She is rated as the nation’s second best post player and seventh best player overall.  

This summer, Del Rorsario averaged 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds a game when she competed with Team USA 18U team  in the 2022 FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Argentina.

Del Rosario was born in Texas, but moved to the Dominican Republic soon after.

With Del Rosario’s commitment, LSU now has four pledges for the class of 2023.  She joins wing Janae Kent, guard Mikaylah Williams and guard Angelica Velez.
