LSU was in Purdue’s situation one year ago in the Texas Bowl. The Tigers took 39 scholarship players to Houston and lost 42-20 to Kansas State in a game not as close as the final score. Brian Kelly made sure that his team competed against itself the Citrus Bowl and not against the Boilermakers.

LSU, which was minus a few of its starters, easily took care of an overmatched Purdue team Monday afternoon in the Citrus Bowl at Orlando (Fla.).
