T-minus 18 months until start of new SEC

Oklahoma and Texas will join the Southeastern Conference for the 2024-25 academic year. So, the Sooners and the Longhorns will be coming on board one year earlier than previously announced. The two schools will pay a total of one million dollars to satisfy the Big XII Conference’s television partners.

The new-look 16-team SEC will begin in football for the 2024 season – the first year of the expanded College Football Playoffs.
