LSU defensive progress must continue

The Tigers are expected to have an explosive offense with so many returning starters. But, do not kid yourself. Good defense must be played if a team is going to win a championship. Here is a breakdown of the defensive personnel with the first scrimmage of August practice set for Saturday.

LSU coordinator Matt House was rather coy when recently discussing his defense with members of the media.

Rarely did House give a specific evaluation of any position group on the defense, much less any personnel. It is very obvious that House is attempting to develop far more depth than what he had in his first season.

Having more players with the ability to log snaps simply increases the daily competition at practice. More competition puts constant pressure on the players to perform.
