Good opponents are informative for coaches

All coaches want to learn as much as possible about their teams.

Facing talented opponents in prime-time atmospheres can reveal much information about a team.

LSU men’s basketball coach Matt McMahon was in such a situation Tuesday night at Syracuse in the ACC/SEC Challenge. The Orange are not a threat to win championships this season, but they did provide McMahon some answers to his questions about the Tigers.
