Daniels developed into Heisman Trophy winner

Jayden Daniels did not enter his Heisman Trophy-winning season with the same hype as his two predecessors – Alabama’s Bryce Young and USC’s Caleb Williams.

Young was highly recruited out of California by Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban. Williams was highly recruited out of Washington D.C. by then-Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley. When Riley left for the Trojans, Williams was not far behind in making the move from Norman to Los Angeles.
