Nussmeier earns his stripes

No Jayden Daniels and no Mike Denbrock still resulted in no change in the script for the LSU football game played in Tampa on Monday afternoon.

Garrett Nussmeier and Joe Sloan, the replacements for Daniels and Denbrock as quarterback and play-caller, did their jobs quite well in the ReliaQuest Bowl at Raymond James Stadium.

Nussmeier produced a 98-yard fourth-quarter touchdown drive to deliver a 35-31 shootout victory over Wisconsin. Nussmeier passed for 395 yards and three touchdowns.
