For the second time this season, LSU lost a Southeastern Conference game last weekend when it was one strike away from a victory.
On Friday, the Tigers held a one-run over Alabama with two outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the ninth. Reliever Griffin Herring had a full count on the batter. But, Herring was unable to close the door.
Herring issued a walk to keep the Tide alive. Three batters later, LSU walked off the field having absorbed a one-run loss.
