Women’s sports lead the way at LSU and in SEC this year

There were only six Tigers teams to finish in the top four in the SEC. The women’s basketball team finished second to eventual national champion South Carolina. The women’s indoor track team ended in third place.

The 2023-24 athletic year came to close Monday night when Tennessee won its first baseball national championship.

Coach Tony Vitello’s Volunteers became the sixth Southeastern Conference team to win the College World Series title over the last eight years. Florida, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and LSU are the other recent CWS champions.
