2024 LSU football preview: Freshmen

When LSU hits the field in Las Vegas for the season-opener against USC next weekend, veterans will dominate the starting lineup.

Only one freshman is a projected starter – redshirt center DJ Chester (79 pictured above), who filled in admirably for an injured Charles Turner against Missouri in 2023.

However, three first-year freshmen should get some playing time against the Trojans – tight end Trey’Dez Green, running back Caden Durham and cornerback PJ Woodland.
