Garrett Nussmeier had a career night Saturday in LSU’s home-opener against Nicholls State.

Nussmeier passed for 302 yards and six touchdowns – a number eclipsed only by Joe Burrow in the 2019 national championship season. However, questions still are present following the Tigers’ 44-21 victory over the FCS Colonels in Tiger Stadium.

The fact that Nussmeier needed to throw the ball 37 times to put Nicholls away is a telling sign.
