Four-star power forward Matt Gilhool commits to LSU
Matt McMahon and his LSU basketball program picked up one of the nation's elite basketball prospect Tuesday evening as four-star power forward Matt Gilhool of Philadelphia (PA) William Penn Charter announced his commitment to the Tigers.
The 6-foot-10, 205-pound Gilhool chose LSU over Iowa, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Mississippi State.
“It felt like family since they started recruiting me,” Gilhool said. “I love what coach McMahon has going on down there.”
Gilhool is LSU’s first commitment for the class of 2025.
He’s a four-star prospect across all recruiting services as well as a consensus National 100 player.
Gilhool finished his junior season averaging 15 points and 9 rebounds per game. He shoots 57-percent from the field.
