The South Alabama game will be an excellent tune-up for the Tigers defense. The Jaguars present similar offensive problems as Ole Miss, which is the next game on the LSU schedule in two weeks.

LSU has lost two defensive starters for the season due to injuries – tackle Jacobian Guillory and linebacker Harold Perkins.

Obviously, Perkins’ season-ending knee injury has drawn far more attention. Prior to the season, Perkins was projected as a late first-round NFL draft choice next April. NFL draft analysts could see Perkins falling to the second round of the draft following the injury.

Perkins has never been the same type of playmaker as he was in his freshman season.
