Both LSU basketball teams desire next step

Both teams have the goal of making a move up the postseason ladder during the upcoming campaign. Mulkey’s team looks for one more NCAA tournament victory which would put it in the Final Four. McMahon’s squad wants to play in the Big Dance this season.

In about one month, the two LSU basketball teams will open their 2024-25 seasons.

Coach Kim Mulkey’s women’s team will play host to Eastern Kentucky at the PMAC on Nov. 4. Two days later, coach Matt McMahon’s men’s squad will face UL-Monroe at the PMAC.

Last year, the women’s basketball team failed to win consecutive national titles. The Tigers’ season came to an end with a seven-point loss to Iowa in the regional finals.
