Kelly will now be under microscope

Let’s start off with a history lesson of LSU football.

Some 70 years ago, Paul Dietzel took over a slumping Tigers program. In his fourth season, Dietzel won Southeastern Conference and national championships.

Nine individuals were LSU head football coaches between Dietzel and Brian Kelly, who began his tenure in 2022. Five of those coaches won a SEC title in their first three seasons.

Mike Archer and Nick Saban won SEC titles in their second years.
