LSU Baseball Preview: Freshmen

LSU will open the 2025 season Friday against Purdue Fort Wayne at The Box. This is the last of a three-part series previewing the Tigers team.


In his three seasons as LSU baseball coach, Jay Johnson has been willing to utilize first-year freshmen.

Eleven true freshmen made more than token appearances in their first season with the Tigers. However, the baseball roster’s depth made it difficult for freshmen to be regulars in the starting lineup.
