LSU decides to enter SEC men’s basketball race with more resources

Most SEC schools are in the spending range between $7 million and $9 million on their basketball players. It is completely unfair to expect McMahon to put together a competitive roster with such limited financial resources.

Both LSU basketball teams had eventful games over the weekend.

The men’s team scored seven points in a 12-second span inside the last half-minute to win at Oklahoma on Saturday evening. That victory snapped a seven-game losing streak for coach Matt McMahon’s team, which has a 2-10 Southeastern Conference record.

On Sunday afternoon, the women’s team gave up a double-digit lead and lost at Texas.
