What LSU cannot afford to happen is to endure back-to-back losing weekends in league play. This Tigers team was expected to be a more proficient offense team than last season’s edition.

What occurred this past weekend to LSU at Auburn is not uncommon in the Southeastern Conference.

Only special teams, or championship teams, can go through SEC baseball’s ten-week gauntlet without getting swept – especially on the road.

LSU experienced that feeling at Plainsman Park where Auburn took three games. For the fourth time in Jay Johnson’s tenure as coach, LSU went winless in a SEC series. LSU was swept at Arkansas in 2022 and 2024 and at Tennessee in 2024.
