LSU gains ground among SEC teams

One half-inning determined the outcome of LSU’s baseball series this past weekend.

A six-run, ninth-inning rally early Saturday morning turned what seemed to be a certain series-opening loss to Tennessee into a dramatic victory.

That result put the Tigers in shape to take the series Sunday afternoon.

Two freshmen did the heavy lifting as LSU coasted to a 12-2 victory over the Vols in the rubber game of the series.
