Three mid-majors take their shot at Tigers

The NCAA Baseball Committee assigned no power conference teams to LSU’s regional tournament which begins Friday afternoon at The Box.

Such a scenario usually exists for the Tigers since the super-regional series format was adopted in 1999. Rarely has LSU met a power conference team in the finals of the regional tournament.

Minnesota (2009) and Oregon State (2012, 2023) are the only power conference teams who lost to the Tigers in the championship round.
