What comes next for CFP?

Last week’s Southeastern Conference meetings in Florida produced no answers to questions pertaining to the league’s football future.

Two major issues must be resolved.

On the conference level, it must be determined whether there will be eight or nine league games beginning in 2026. The head coaches want eight games, while their bosses – seeing a financial bonanza from ESPN – want nine games.
