Tigers show depth of roster in winning regional

The depth of the LSU lineup was on display throughout the four-day tournament. Four Tigers players had at least five hits and none of the group was Jared Jones, Daniel Dickinson or Jake Brown – middle-of-the-lineup hitters.

The past weekend was rough for the baseball teams in the mighty Southeastern Conference.

Four SEC regional host teams – Vanderbilt, Texas, Georgia and Ole Miss – did not advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament. The Commodores, Longhorns and Bulldogs were all national seeds.

Five SEC teams – Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Oklahoma – were unable to win regional tournaments on the road.
