LSU baseball: where it has been and where it is going

The first quarter of the 21st century for LSU athletics concluded with the baseball team winning the national championship last month.

Skip Bertman’s last season as Tigers baseball coach came during the first academic year of this century. Bertman’s final LSU team was eliminated by Tulane in the super regionals.

There were a few down periods over the next 24 baseball seasons, but for the most part the Tigers have been successful.
