We are now getting ready for an odd-numbered year – meaning a probable trip to Omaha. All four of LSU’s appearances at the CWS under Paul Mainieri took place in odd-number years – 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

Paul Mainieri will begin his 13th season as LSU baseball coach Friday when Louisiana-Monroe visits The Box.

Mainieri will now be the head coach longer in Baton Rouge than at any other stop in his career. Mainieri spent 12 years as the head coach at Notre Dame. Mainieri has a contract with the Tigers through the 2024 season.

There is no question that Mainieri has enjoyed great success during his time at LSU.
