LSU Football Preview: Special Teams

Oh, for the days of Greg McMahon.

Former LSU coach Ed Orgeron made an excellent hire in 2018 when he chose McMahon, a NFL coach, to run his special teams’ units.

For four years, the Tigers’ special teams excelled under McMahon. Future NFL kicker Cade York handled field goals and extra points for three of those four seasons. In his first year, McMahon brought in Assumption transfer Cole Tracy.

Those two kickers made 84 percent of their field goal attempts (83-of-99).
