Mainieri and Dunn looking for a different Hess

Zack Hess had a rough outing in his first start of the 2018 season.

Hess didn’t last four innings and allowed five runs and six hits against Louisiana-Monroe. Certainly, those are not the numbers of a Friday night pitcher.

The second start of the year for Hess comes Friday in the opener of a three-game series at The Box against Bryant (7 p.m. Central/SEC Digital Network).

LSU coach Paul Mainieri has definite thoughts at what he wants to see from Hess.
