For much of the season, the defense kept LSU in games.
The Tigers jumped out to a quick two-touchdown lead against Houston in the Texas Bowl on Saturday night at NRG Stadium.
However, the defense on the field in the bowl game was not the one fielded by LSU during the regular season. Quarterback Conner Weigman led a comeback which resulted in a 38-35 Cougars victory.
Houston was able to do what it wanted against a Tigers defense which was minus more than half of its starters.
