LSU facing most critical SEC basketball week in almost 20 years

March 4, 2019

LSU put itself in position to win a Southeastern Conference basketball championship by edging Tennessee in overtime at the PMAC two Saturdays ago.

The Tigers began the second-to-last week of the SEC regular season tied with the Volunteers and Kentucky for first place. LSU proceeded to hold up its part of the bargain by picking up two more victories.

First, the Tigers easily took care of Texas A&M, a second-division SEC team, at the PMAC on Tuesday. Second, LSU went to Coleman Coliseum – a nightmare location for its past teams – to face an Alabama team, which was fighting for a NCAA tournament berth.
