Will Wade Returns to LSU for Another Rebuild—And He’s Done It Before

Will Wade is taking over a LSU program from Matt McMahon whose team won only three SEC games this past season. LSU’s overall record during the 2025-26 campaign was 15-17.

On Monday afternoon, Will Wade will hold his second introductory press conference on the LSU campus.

Wade’s first session as the Tigers head basketball coach occurred some nine years ago in the LSU Student Union.

Well, there has been an upgrade.

Wade’s opening remarks this time around will take place in the PMAC. School officials anticipate that many members of the Tigers fan base will be on campus Monday to welcome back Wade.

Wade is quite familiar with the task at hand.
