Nothing is more telling for any head coach than when his team faces very good competition.

LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson found himself in that position last weekend during his team’s series against Texas A&M.

The Aggies came to The Box on a major high having swept two games from archrival Texas in a rain-shortened series. Texas A&M, which was one of the worst teams in the Southeastern Conference a year ago, is now one of the best teams in the league.
