South Carolina was just what LSU needed to cure its ills.

The Gamecocks came to The Box one game ahead of the Tigers in the Southeastern Conference standings. LSU began last weekend in 15th place in the standings and on a school-record nine-game SEC losing streak.

Rain on Friday caused the teams to play three games in slightly more than 24 hours. The Tigers were without two of their weekend starters – Casan Evans and Cooper Moore – due to injuries.
