LSU football already owns the spotlight

The second half of the month of May usually is a peaceful time for college football teams.

The players are wrapping up spring exams before taking some time off prior to the start of summer workouts. The coaches are involved in spring recruiting.

At many Southeastern Conference schools, attention is focused on the upcoming NCAA baseball tournament. Then, following the conclusion of next week’s SEC baseball tournament, everybody heads to Destin (Fla.) for the league meetings.
