Beloso’s HR gives LSU doubleheader split with California
Cade Beloso hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to give LSU a 5-4 victory against California and a split of their doubleheader Saturday at The Box. The Bears defeated the Tigers 5-2 in the first game.

LSU PLAYER OF THE GAME
Making his first weekend start, Cole Henry gave the Tigers four scoreless innings. Henry allowed three batters to reach base – Wezniak on a hit by pitch in the second, Hance Smith on a single in the third and Lee on a single in the fourth. None of those three baserunners got past first base. Henry, who was taken out because his back tightened up, struck out one batter.

Beloso delivered his second game-winning home run of the season. He hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to beat Army 6-5. Beloso’s sixth-inning homer followed a single by Reid. Beloso hit a solo home run in the fourth. Beloso, who went 0-for-3 in the first game of the doubleheader, now has four home runs for the season.
