The Hidden Cost of CFP Expansion

As Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey stated before the beginning of the league’s spring meetings, there was no definitive word about College Football Playoff expansion.

For the present, there will be 12 teams chosen for the CFP this December.

For a change to be made, the SEC and the Big Ten Conference must agree on a new format. If these two big boys cannot settle on a different plan, the 12-team playoff remains in place.
