LSU added another major piece to its 2027 recruiting class Monday when four-star offensive lineman Terrance Smith of Lansdale Catholic High School in Pennsylvania announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Smith, who measures approximately 6-foot-6½ and 290 pounds, is regarded as one of the top offensive line prospects in the nation and gives LSU a massive addition in the trenches. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Smith is ranked as the No. 14 interior offensive lineman nationally, the No. 7 overall prospect in Pennsylvania, and a Top-300 player nationally.
The Lansdale Catholic standout chose LSU over a group of finalists that included Auburn, Tennessee and Rutgers. His recruitment gained significant momentum this spring after a series of visits, and the Tigers ultimately won out for one of the Northeast's premier offensive line prospects.
Despite missing the early portion of his 2025 season while recovering from ACL surgery, Smith returned to help lead Lansdale Catholic on a deep playoff run.
Before his injury-shortened junior campaign, Smith showcased his athletic ability as a two-way player. During the 2024 season he recorded 15 tackles and four sacks on defense while also starting along the offensive line. He is also a standout track and field athlete, posting strong marks in both the shot put and discus.
Smith becomes one of the cornerstone offensive line commitments in LSU's 2027 class and continues the Tigers' recent recruiting success outside traditional SEC territory.
LSU now has 10 commitments for the class of 2027 with Smith’s pledge.
