Kiffin offered the LSU defense coordinator position to Blake Baker, who held that job the two previous seasons under coach Brian Kelly.

Baker made the second decision.

With the head coaching spot at his alma mater Tulane there for the taking, Baker opted to remain with the Tigers as an assistant – the defensive coordinator under Kiffin.

Speaking with members of the media last Friday, Baker mentioned two reasons for his choice to stay at LSU.
