The site was Memorial Stadium when LSU met Clemson to begin the 2025 season.

Both LSU and Clemson were projected to be College Football Playoff teams. LSU got off to a good start with a 17-10 victory over Clemson. However, that victory was the high point of LSU’s season. That loss led to a 1-4 start for Clemson.

Both LSU and Clemson finished with a 7-6 record. LSU coach Brian Kelly did not finish the season as he was fired in late October following a loss at home to Texas A&M.
