BATON ROUGE — A new documentary examining the life and legacy of LSU football icon Billy Cannon is set to premiere next week on Louisiana Public Broadcasting.
“Circles… The Life of Billy Cannon” takes an in-depth look at the remarkable and complicated life of LSU’s 1959 Heisman Trophy winner and one of the most recognizable figures in Louisiana sports history.
Cannon’s daughter, Bunnie Cannon, joined executive producers Jay Dardenne and Linda Midgett at LSU Football Operations on Tuesday to discuss how the documentary came together. The group talked about the extensive research behind the project, the search for archival footage and the process of bringing Cannon’s story to the screen.
