It certainly appeared that Texas’ season was going to be short circuited after just two games.

Playing at home, the Longhorns started the fourth quarter in a 20-point hole against No. 1-ranked Ohio State. Such a lopsided defeat would produce a lasting negative effect on the College Football Playoff Committee.

However, Arch Manning led three fourth-quarter touchdown drives as Texas rallied for a one-point victory over the Buckeyes.
