Houston threw four touchdown passes and added another score on the ground as Evangel shut out Huntington 42-0, while Segarra rushed for more than 120 yards and two touchdowns in Byrnes' 49-21 victory over Spartanburg.
Wide receiver Gary Burney Jr. also found the end zone in Parkway's blowout victory over Red River, while Ahmad Hudson had four receptions in Ruston's top-two showdown with Edna Karr.

Houston and Evangel Christian broke into the win column in emphatic fashion Friday night.
The Eagles shut out Huntington 42-0, improving to 1-2 after opening the season with losses to West Monroe and Neville.
Houston connected with four different receivers for touchdowns and added a fifth score on the ground as Evangel controlled the game from start to finish.
It was another productive outing for the LSU quarterback commitment, who has been one of the most prolific offensive players in Louisiana early in his senior season.
TE Ahmad Hudson — Ruston (La.)
Hudson and Ruston faced their biggest test of the young season Saturday afternoon against Edna Karr in the Caesars Superdome.
The Bearcats rallied from an early 14-point deficit to tie the game before falling 21-14 in a matchup of the top two teams in Louisiana's Class 5A rankings.
Hudson caught four passes for 29 yards in the loss.
Ruston finished with 234 yards of total offense as the Bearcats fell to 2-1.
S Jayden Anding — Ruston (La.)
Anding joined Hudson in Ruston's 21-14 loss to Edna Karr.
The Bearcats' defense settled in after allowing two early touchdowns and kept Ruston within striking distance throughout the afternoon.
Ruston held Karr to 258 total yards and forced two turnovers.

The performance came one week after Segarra broke loose for a 70-yard touchdown run in a 55-17 victory over Greer.
Segarra has now produced explosive plays in consecutive weeks as Byrnes improved to 3-1.
S Karnell James — Manvel (Texas)
James and Manvel had the weekend off after opening the season with three consecutive victories.
The Mavericks have been dominant defensively, allowing just seven points through their first three games.
Manvel opened the season with a 30-0 shutout of Lamar before defeating Iowa Colony 37-7 and Pasadena Memorial 75-0.
James and the Mavericks return to action Thursday against Alvin.
WR Cade Cooper — Malvern Prep (Pa.)
Cooper and Malvern Prep faced another major test Saturday night against St. Joseph's Prep.
The Friars fell 12-7, dropping to 1-2 after consecutive games against Imhotep Charter and St. Joseph's Prep.
Cooper remains one of Malvern Prep's top offensive weapons after catching 44 passes for 644 yards and six touchdowns as a junior.
