Tigers finally get championship-level pitching

The Southeastern Conference baseball schedule began and, all of a sudden, the LSU pitching staff put up championship-like numbers.

In 30 innings, Kentucky managed just seven runs and 21 hits against eight Tigers pitchers. One could easily make the point that seven of those eight LSU hurlers pitched very well. Tigers pitchers issued 15 walks, but they struck out 34 Wildcats hitters. The team ERA for the series was 2.10.
