LSU's Playoff Hopes on the Line as No. 16 Mississippi State Visits Tiger Stadium

Ten is the magic number when it comes to the College Football Playoffs.

Since the CFP expanded to 12 teams two seasons ago, no school has received an at-large berth without winning at least ten regular-season games.

If that fact continues this year, LSU has no more wiggle room. After losing last Saturday at Kentucky in overtime, the Tigers finished the first half of the 2026 regular-season schedule with a 4-2 record.
