HANAGRIFF: The play that proves Sam Leavitt is becoming a different quarterback

That the outcome of the game was not in question couldn't have mattered less. 

Leading 24-0 with :35 to go in the third quarter, LSU was cruising towards its fifth win of the year.  Playing 3rd and 5 from the Mississippi State six-yard line, the Tigers were trying to spread the cake icing. 

The quarterback for the home team has been trying to make better decisions, regardless of the circumstances in the game.
