Davante Lewis defeated incumbent Lambert Boissiere III to win election to the Louisiana Public Service Commission. Both are Democrats, but Lewis is backed by environmental activist groups while Boissiere had backing from the utility industry. Lewis wasted no time in setting his priorities of green energy activism and compliance to the climate change agenda. More than likely he'll be out voted for now, but for how long?
I'm all for keeping an eye on utilities and such, ensuring things are on the up and up, but this guy wants to use the power of government (surprised?) to mandate a certain percentage of energy produced here comes from "green" sources. Just like school boards, the people of the state better start paying attention to the PSC, among other boards/commissions. This is how radicals take control of the process.
