LAZARE: No surprises from LSU

LSU came into the game against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night in a must-win situation to keep its bowl hopes alive.

The Tigers were never really threatened by the Warhawks, a second-division Sun Belt Conference team. However, LSU didn’t really put UL-Monroe away until it recovered an onsides kick late in the fourth quarter of a 27-14 victory.

The final score would have been closer if not for a Tigers goal-line stand early in the fourth quarter.
