No. 2 LSU gymnastics finished the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad meet in second place, scoring a 197.500.

LSU and No. 1 Oklahoma both scored a 197.500 to end the meet, with Oklahoma winning the tiebreaker, which is determined by tallying all six scores across all four rotations.

LSU’s Kailin Chio picks up right where she left off in 2025, winning the all-around with a score of 39.600.

LSU opened the meet on floor, finishing the first rotation in third place with a score of 49.275. Chio would post the team’s highest score of the rotation, a 9.900.

Denver transfer Madison Ulrich would go second on vault, and land the second 9.900 of the day, with Chio anchoring the event with another 9.900.

LSU worked back into the second-place spot after two rotations, just .225 points behind Oklahoma.

LSU moved to bars in the third rotation, putting up a 9.850 as the drop score in this rotation.

Sophomore Lexi Zeiss posted a 9.875, followed by 9.900’s by Ashley Cowan and Ulrich. The event was rounded out with a 9.950 from Boise State transfer Courtney Blackson and a 9.925 from Konnor McClain.

LSU worked the deficit down to just .175 with five more scores to count out of the six beam routines.

Kylie Coen opened with a 9.900 and was followed by a 9.800 and two 9.825’s. Then Chip showed why she is the reigning SEC Freshman of the Year and posted a 9.950.

LSU wouldn’t be able to get the score needed to beat Oklahoma, and Konnor McClain’s 9.650 in the anchor spot would be dropped. But at the same time, the judges would raise Zeiss’ 9.800 to a 9.850.

LSU’s looks to bounce back on the road versus Georgia on Friday, Jan. 16.
