LSU (5-6) took care of business against UL Monroe 27-14 in a must-win game for the Tigers for an opportunity to preserve a winning season.

Arkansas (7-3) defeated LSU 16-13 Saturday night in Tiger Stadium in what was a crucial game for LSU extending its streak of seasons having won 50 percent or more of its games.

While LSU certainly isn’t the “moral victory” type of program, this game had a lot of those feelings around it as the Tigers kept much closer than expected. However eventually, Alabama’s might proved too much to overcome for the maligned Tiger roster with a plethora of players injured.

This is Ed Orgeron’s first loss to Ole Miss, his former team, since becoming LSU’s head coach and it comes on the heels of Orgeron and LSU’s separation agreement earlier this week. Adding to the drama was his long-time friend on the opposing sideline, Lane Kiffin who many consider a leading candidat

Last season, Mississippi State (2-2) humiliated the defending national champions in its season opener with 44 points and an SEC record 623 passing yards. Today, LSU (3-1)  hung on to avenge that loss but not before some late-game drama in a 28-25 win.

After a lackluster offensive showing against McNeese last week, LSU debuted a new-look, high-pace tempo offense against Central Michigan. The result was a 49-21 beat down and nearly 500 yards of offense.
