The LSU-UCLA winners' bracket game at the College World Series has been suspended by rain. It will be resumed at 10 a.m. Central Tuesday.

Coach Jay Johnson has made excellent use of the transfer portal during his four seasons at LSU. Eight position players and eight pitchers, all of whom came from other four-year schools, have been key performers for the Tigers. Seven of these 16 players earned All-Southeastern Conference honors.

Thanks to Anderson and a pair of relievers, LSU started out in the proper way at the College World Series on Saturday night.

It was not a cakewalk from the start for LSU in its super-regional series game against West Virginia on Saturday afternoon. In fact, the Tigers trailed after three innings. However, it was obviously just a matter of time before LSU was going to take control.

Due to the presence of Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson, the Tigers are a heavy favorite to win the super-regional series and travel to Omaha for the College World Series for the second time in three years...but...

The depth of the LSU lineup was on display throughout the four-day tournament. Four Tigers players had at least five hits and none of the group was Jared Jones, Daniel Dickinson or Jake Brown – middle-of-the-lineup hitters.

Two major issues must be resolved. On the conference level, it must be determined whether there will be eight or nine league games beginning in 2026. The head coaches want eight games, while their bosses – seeing a financial bonanza from ESPN – want nine games. On the national level,...
